A distinguished sustainable tour operator situated in Costa Rica, established in 1995 by two German expatriates.
Nestled in the scenic Ciudad Colon, just 30 minutes away from the bustling capital of San Jose, our office serves as
a hub for creating unforgettable experiences.

Comprising a dynamic international team of 15 individuals hailing from Costa Rica and Germany, our collective
mission is to turn your dream vacation in Costa Rica into a reality. Our diverse cultural backgrounds serve as a
unique strength, enabling us to precisely understand customer expectations while also appreciating the
intricacies of what resonates with the local Ticos.

In recognition of our commitment to sustainability, Tierra Verde achieved the highest CST sustainability
certification, attaining the esteemed Category 5 in 2012. Since 2016, we have proudly held the distinction of
being a Rainforest Alliance-certified tour operator, meeting globally recognized sustainability criteria.
Additionally, Tierra Verde was honoured with a 4-star award in 2016 through the ecological initiative “Blue Flag”
(Bandera Azul Ecológica).
